Iran's Bastani Sonnati named best in world

Bastani Sonnati, Iran's traditional ice cream, has earned the top spot as the world's best frozen dessert by a popular international food guide. 

The recognition comes from TasteAtlas, an encyclopedia that celebrates diverse flavors and traditional dishes.

Bastani Sonnati emerged victorious among 49 other contenders to earn the title from different parts of the globe.

Bastani sonnati is a unique saffron-infused Iranian ice cream made with a creamy mixture of milk or cream, frozen custard, and sliced pistachios.

It is flavored with rose water and saffron and Iranians prefer to enjoy it in individual bowls, sprinkled with shredded pistachio.

In addition, two other Iranian desserts, Faloodeh and Havij Bastani, also made it to the list of top frozen desserts, showcasing the country's rich culinary history and savory delicacies.
